The FE 390 arrived for 2010 as a compact enduro with the 70-degree engine layout shared by the new Husaberg generation. It gave handling close to a 250 with more bottom-end torque than one, so it suited less experienced riders as well as tight technical and extreme enduro use. Fuel injection, an upside-down WP fork and a slim 8.5 litre tank were part of the package.
